Mama would never describe herself this way, but she is an artist. She is one who likes to add beauty to the mundane. We have everything from hand-embroidered pillow cases to cute snowmen ornaments made with love. Even our dishtowels — items designed to clean up messes — have her handiwork on them. And I wish I had kept count of all the little kids she has made doll quilts for… You see, everything and everyone deserves beauty and hope.
Today, take a look at some of her work and consider Philippians 4:8:
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue,
and if there be any praise, think on these things.
I love her days-of-the-week dishtowels, so I turned one into a journal page for you. I didn’t iron it because I convinced myself you’d like to have the texture in the background… and I hate to iron! I’ve written about Mama’s embroidery work before. To read that story, click here.
